This blog will serve as a home for KanVote on the web, until further notice.
KanVote is not a single organization, but a collection of organizations and citizens working together to defend voter freedom in Kansas. The passing of the "Voter ID" law will require thousands of Kansans to seek a free non-driver ID card or free Kansas birth certificate copies. The state of Kansas will have to eat the cost of these documents at a time when the state budget is already stretched to it's limit and only one prosecutable case of voter fraud was found in the last election. Further, these documents require a signed affidavit from the citizen claiming they are necessary to vote, the processing of which will further strain county election offices and state services.
If a citizen can be taxed annually without these documents, how then is it at all logical that they can be prevented from voting without them? We all must band together to ensure that Kansans of all classes, ages, and races keep their voting rights. If you feel the same way, then like or friend us, and send your friends. Because we're all in this together.
